Carthage Area Hospital and Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center to Host Community Event on Healthcare Transition

Ogdensburg, NY, September 4, 2024 — Carthage Area Hospital (CAH) and Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center (CHMC), both members of the North Star Health Alliance, are pleased to invite the community to a special event on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. This event will take place at the Elks Lodge, located at 322 Caroline Street, Ogdensburg, New York, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

During this event, Rich Duvall, President and CEO of North Star Health Alliance, will provide important updates and answer questions regarding Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center's upcoming transition to a critical access and stand-alone mental health hospital. 

"We understand that this transition brings many questions, and we want to ensure our community is fully informed and supported throughout this process," said Duvall. "This event is an opportunity for open dialogue, where we can discuss what these changes mean for our patients, their families, and the broader North Country region."

The event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about this important transition and to engage directly with the leadership of North Star Health Alliance.
