Looking for something fun to do next month? Take a look at our upcoming Youth
Services events below!

● Toddler Story Time & Crafts - Ages 3-5
Join us every Wednesday at 10:30am for Toddler Story Time & Crafts! We’ll read fun
stories, dance, sing, and wiggle around. Then, we’ll end our story time with a craft
relating to the books we read. Each week we do a different theme, so every story
time is its own unique experience.
Dates: October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 at 10:30 am

● Baby Story Time - Ages 0-2
Join us every Thursday at 10:30am for some fun stories, nursery rhymes, and
wiggles! Then, at the end of our story time, little ones are encouraged to explore our
play room and craft area to play and interact with other littles. We’ll have toys,
Play-Doh, and coloring sheets available to play with. Each story time has a different
theme so every week will be its own unique experience!
Date: October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 at 10:30 am

● Sew What - Ages 8-17
Learn to hand sew this month’s Sew What session. This month’s project: handsewn
monster buddy. Registration is required for this program. Contact Mrs. Brittani at

Date: October 3 at 11 am & 4 pm

● Toddler Painting - Ages 0-5
Join us for some fun process painting! Our first painting will involve sponge-painting
to create paper plate pumpkins. Our second process painting will involve using q-tips
to create colorful fall leaves on trees.
Date: October 4, 18 at 10:30 am

● Art Club - Ages 6-12
Stop in for an hour of creative fun with local art educator, Shalaina Thompson!
Themes for each event are announced at each session.
Date: October 4 at 4 pm

● Children’s Take & Make Crafts - Ages 3-12
On the first Saturday of each month, grab a craft kit to make with your little ones! All
the supplies needed for the craft will be included in the kit. This month we will be
making a Halloween bead bracelet.
Date: October 5 at 9 am

● Teen Paint a Brain Kit - Ages 12-17
Paint your own spooky brain with this take home kit! Items included: ceramic brain,
assorted acrylic paints, and a paintbrush. Kits will be available at the Circulation
Desk starting at 9 am on October 5. Limit of 1 kit per person max of 2 if picking up for
a friend. While supplies last.
Date: October 5 at 9 am

● Open Gaming - Ages 12-17
Stop by the Teen Space Mondays after school for a snack and games (Nintendo
Switch, Wii, PC, and board games). Interested in making your own video game? You
can build one with one of our Bloxels subscriptions! Limited to 12 participants (first
come, first served).
Dates: October 7, 14, 21, 28 at 4 pm

● Paint-a-Pumpkin - Ages 3-12
Let’s get into the fall spirit with a foam pumpkin craft! Participants will receive white
foam pumpkin to paint however they’d like. An array of art supplies including but not
limited to paint, glitter, and stickers will be available to use to decorate the pumpkins.
All paints, foam pumpkins, and other supplies will be provided. Just bring yourselves!
We will be using paint and other messy art supplies, so please dress accordingly.
Dates: October 8 at 6 pm

● League of Gamers - Ages 8-12
Come throw bananas at other racers, avoid exploding kittens, and more! By popular
request, tweens now have their own monthly open gaming meeting! Once a month,
tweens are welcome to stop by the community room on the first floor for various
board games, Nintendo Switch, and Wii games as well as a snack.
Date: October 10 at 4:30 pm

● Homeschool Hangout - Ages 8-17
Are you a homeschool student in search of other homeschool students in the area?
Well, look no further than our Homeschool Hangout! Each month the 8-17 year-olds
have a snack and either make something awesome or have fun doing an activity.
This month we will be making black light paintings.
Date: October 11 at 11:30 am

● Design Your Own Trick-or-Treat Bag - Ages 0-17
It’s almost time to go trick-or-treating! You can’t go trick-or-treating without a bag to
put all your candy in, so be sure to stop by the library to receive a FREE trick-or-treat
bag. The best part? Participants get to color and decorate the bag to make it
one-of-a-kind! Please note that due to limited quantity, bags will be given out on a
first come first served basis. No reservations can be made.
Date: October 12 at 3:30 pm

● LEGO Club - All Ages & Abilities
Join us one Thursday a month in the South Reading Room from 4pm – 5:30pm for
Lego Club! All the Legos will be provided for you. Theme builds will be announced
during each program.
Date: October 17 at 4 pm

● Halloween Trick-or-Treat-or Trucks - All Ages & Abilities
It’s that time of year again! Put on your costume (or just a totally cool outfit), play
games, make spooky crafts, and win a ton of candy at our annual Halloween party.
This year, we’re adding something else to our list of festivities...Touch-a-Truck!
Participants will get to explore, touch, or honk a horn in a variety of vehicles from
different organizations all over the North Country. Please note that this event will take
place at both Flower Memorial Library and the Watertown City Hall Parking Lot. This
event will happen rain or shine so please plan accordingly. The first half hour of the
event will be sensory-friendly with no bright lights or honking. A special thank you to
Stewart’s Shop for sponsoring this event.

● Baby Play Day - Ages 0-2
Looking for an opportunity for your littlest ones to play and interact with other littles?
If so, then this is the program for you! Join us once a month for age-appropriate
sensory toys and a hands-on activity. The activities may be a bit messy, so please
dress yourselves and your littles appropriately.
Date: October 21 at 10:30 am

● Family Night - All Ages & Abilities
Stop in each month for a family friendly story and activity! This month we will make
our own balance bat and read the book “Stellaluna” by Janell Cannon.
Dates: October 21 at 6 pm

● Book Display Brigade - Ages 12-17
Are you creative - looking for a volunteer opportunity - a total bookworm? Then join
the Book Display Brigade! During Book Display Brigade meetings you’ll help Mrs.
Brittani make a book display for the Teens Space. Each meeting you earn 1
volunteer hour for attending.
Date: October 25 at 4 pm

● Local Hauntings with Paranormal of Watertown - Ages 13+
Join Paranormal of Watertown for a look at a few locations they have investigated
over the past year. Locations include: Waldorf Estate of Fear, Madison Seminary,
and Empire Square.
Date: October 26 at 3 pm

● K9 Night with the Watertown Police Department - Ages 6-12
Officer Maney and K9 Jochie from the Watertown Police Department are coming to
the library! They will be teaching us about the job of police officers and the special
role of their K9 partners. We’ll even get to see K9 Jochie in action with a
demonstration. There is a limit of 30 participants per session. Participants will be
determined on a first come first served basis. No reservations can be made. Children
must be within the selected age range in order to attend.
Date: October 29 at 6 pm
