Watertown, New York (October 2, 2024) – The Children’s Home of Jefferson County (CHJC) is excited to announce the launch of the Trek for Tomorrow Patch Challenge, a new initiative aimed at raising awareness and support for foster and kinship care. Outdoor enthusiasts and supporters alike are invited to explore the beauty of the North Country while making a difference for children in need.
Participants are encouraged to tackle 15 of the 37 recommended trails across the North Country. The first 100 finishers will receive a FREE patch and decal to commemorate their accomplishment (patches and decals will be available for purchase after the first 100 finishers). All treks must be completed on or after August 1, 2024, to be eligible. This is an ongoing challenge, with no end date, allowing participants to complete it at their own pace.
The list of trails, specially chosen by CHJC foster youth and families, is now available on AllTrails: Trek for Tomorrow Challenge List, which can also be accessed through our website. This unique challenge celebrates the spirit of adventure while supporting foster care awareness. Notably, the official patch for the challenge was designed by one of CHJC’s foster youth, adding a special and personal touch to this important cause.
“We are thrilled to launch this challenge and engage the community in a meaningful way,” said Alissa Braun, TFCO Recruiter at CHJC. “By participating, you’re not just enjoying the outdoors, but you’re also stepping up for foster care, helping to raise awareness and support for our local foster youth and families.”
Participants can explore the full challenge, including submission details and the list of trails, on the CHJC website at www.chjc.org.
