FLOWER MEMORIAL LIBRARY TOY DRIVE
Oct 21, 2024 02:30PM ● By Kenzie Shiver
Bring new or very gently used toys of any size and value to the library from November 1-30. Toys can be dropped off at the Circulation Desk on the Main Floor. Unopened toys are preferred, but we will gladly accept toys out of their original packaging as long as they are in very gently used condition. Donations must be a physical toy. Gift cards will not be accepted.
Families are welcome to come and take toys collected during the Toy Drive starting Saturday, December 7th at 10:00am during our Elf Workshop Event. Toys will be spread out in our South Reading Room, where families will be able to come and “shop” around for free. There is no limit as to how many toys a person can take since every family is different in size, but we kindly ask to keep other families in mind when picking out toys.
After the event, toys will then be left on the Main Floor until January 1st. Toys will be taken on a first come, first served basis. No reservations can be made. Any toys remaining after January 1st will be donated to local childcare organizations.
Every toy, no matter how big or small, is invaluable to a child. Giving a child a chance to play and experiment with toys at home does not only provide entertainment and joy, but it is also proven to improve a child’s cognitive development, motor skills, social skills, creativity, and more. Every donation will positively impact a child’s life.
For more information about the Toy Drive, please contact our Children’s Librarian, Jamie LaPlaca, at [email protected] or 315-785-7709. Help us give children the joy of new toys this holiday season.
