Services events below!
Blood Drive with the American Red Cross [at the library] – Wednesday December 18th @ 9am – 2pm You are invited to give back and give blood: a blood drive hosted at the Flower Memorial Library! Online registration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ins may be accepted, but wait times for walk-ins may be longer than others. Questions? Contact Ashley at Flower Library at 315-785-7714 or Jerilyn DePasquale at the Red Cross at 315-317-9379. Once you’ve arrived at the library, visit the Rotunda to get checked in.
Talking Threads [at the library] – Wednesday December 18th @ 6pm
Are you a fiber artist looking to connect with other artists in our area? Bring your current project to the library to be creative and social. This is an informal gathering for those who enjoy crocheting, knitting, hand embroidery, etc. There will not be guided instruction — the library will not be supplying tools or materials for use.

Hunt a Killer Board Game [at the library] – Saturday December 21st @ 10am
Feel like you’re solving a real-life murder mystery! Join us to play the board game, Death at the Dive Bar, together in our historic South Reading Room. It’s like an escape room in a box – but right at your fingertips. Decode ciphers, piece together clues, consider all evidence and SOLVE THE CRIME!

All Ages and Abilities Noon Year’s Eve Party [at the library] – Tuesday, December 31st @ 11am – 12:30pm Do you want to celebrate the end of another year, but can’t keep your eyes open til midnight? Join us for a NOON Year’s Eve party. More information to come!
Baby Story Time - Ages 0-2
Join us every Thursday at 10:30am for some fun stories, nursery rhymes, and wiggles! Then, at the end of our story time, little ones are encouraged to explore our playroom and craft area to play and interact with other littles. We’ll have toys, Play-Doh, and coloring sheets available to play with. Each story time has a different theme so every week will be its own unique experience!

Sew What - Ages 8-17
Let’s learn to sew using sewing machines and needle and thread! Please email Mrs. Brittani at [email protected] or call at 315.785.7714 to sign up for a sewing project and time slot. Participants may only sign up for 2 projects. All skill levels are welcome to attend. Spaces are limited. This month we will be making machine sewn fleece hats.

Art Club - Ages 6-12
Stop in for an hour of creative fun with local art educator, Shalaina Thompson! Themes for each event are announced at each session.

Children’s Take & Make Crafts - Ages 3-12
On one Saturday of each month, grab a craft kit to make with your little ones! All the supplies needed for the craft will be included in the kit. This month we will be making a glitter cupcake magnet..

Flower Memorial Library’s 120th Anniversary Party - All Ages
To celebrate the history of the library and everything it has accomplished over the past 120 years, please join us for an anniversary party. We will have historic library tours, a photo booth to capture the memories made at the party, library memorabilia from over the years, a flower bookmark craft, light refreshments, giveaways, and more. This event will take place throughout the library. A historic tour around the library will begin at 3pm, starting at the Circulation Desk.

Open Gaming - Ages 12-17
Stop by the Teen Space Mondays after school for a snack and games (Nintendo Switch, Wii, PC, and board games). Interested in making your own video game? You can build one with one of our Bloxels subscriptions! Limited to 12 participants (first come, first served).

Family Night - All Ages & Abilities
Stop in each month for a family friendly story and activity! This month we will make our own homemade salt dough and read “Edward Gets Messy” by Rita Meade. Date: January 6 at 6 pm
Toddler Story Time & Crafts - Ages 3-5
Join us every Wednesday at 10:30am for Toddler Story Time & Crafts! We’ll read fun stories, dance, sing, and wiggle around. Then, we’ll end our story time with a craft relating to the books we read. Each week we do a different theme, so every story time is its own unique experience.

League of Gamers - Ages 8-12
Come throw bananas at other racers, avoid exploding kittens, and more! By popular request, tweens now have their own monthly open gaming meeting! Once a month, tweens are welcome to stop by the community room on the first floor for various board games, Nintendo Switch, and Wii games as well as a snack.

Toddler Painting - Ages 0-5
Join us in the Children’s Room for some fun process painting! Our January painting will involve using q-tips and sponges to create a tree covered in snow. Date: January 10 at 10:30 am
Therapy Dogs at the Library with Groot’s Canine - Ages 5-13
We have a fur-tastic day coming up at the library! Casey from Groot’s Canine is bringing some of her canine friends to hang out with us. We’ll read with the dogs, learn about therapy dogs, watch a demonstration of tricks, and more. Only patrons within the selected age range may participate.

Superhero Bash - All Ages
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s our 2nd Annual Superhero Bash! Come to the library in your favorite superhero costume or other superhero attire for some super-duper fun. We’ll have themed snacks, crafts, and trivia appropriate for ages 6-12. Date: January 14 at 6 pm
LEGO Club - All Ages & Abilities
Join us one Thursday a month in the South Reading Room from 4pm – 5:30pm for Lego Club! All the Legos will be provided for you. Theme builds will be announced during each program.

Breakfast Club - Ages 12-17
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Why not enjoy a light breakfast at the library with friends?! We will have a crafting option at each session, but if you’re not into crafting you’re still welcome to enjoy a little food, read in one of our comfy chairs, or play a board game with friends. This month we will be eating oatmeal and hot cocoa. The craft is glitter magnets.

Lunch and a Movie - Ages 13+
Join us for a showing of Twisters, and enjoy a pizza lunch on us! The rating for this movie is PG-13. The run time is two hours and two minutes.

Music & Movement with Guest Sarah Wolfe - Ages 0-5
Does your child like to sing, dance, or just wiggle around? If so, come join guest Sarah Wolfe for a fun music and movement program! Music and Movement is a joyful and interactive music program that encourages little ones to get their bodies moving, their voices singing, and to make some beautiful noise. The session includes a sing-along with Sarah playing the ukulele.

Book Display Brigade - Ages 12-17
Are you creative - looking for a volunteer opportunity - a total bookworm? Then join the Book Display Brigade! During Book Display Brigade meetings you’ll help Mrs. Brittani make a book display for the Teens Space. Each meeting you earn 1 volunteer hour for attending.

Dog Man Movie Release Party - Ages 6+
Dog Man The Movie releases in theaters today! To celebrate the release of the new movie, join us for crafts and activities all relating to the hit comics of this half-man, half-dog hero.
