On March 3rd, Kierstyn Patterson, a senior at Indian River Central School, made history by becoming the first student in the school's history to sign a collegiate cheerleading commitment. She officially committed to furthering both her academic journey and cheerleading career at Friends University.

A dedicated athlete, Kierstyn served as Cheer Captain during both her junior and senior years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and skill. Her impressive high school career earned her the title of three time- Frontier League All-Star, as well as the prestigious MVP recognition.

Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, Kierstyn was joined by Friends University Cheer Coach, Joshua Johnson, at Monday's signing ceremony. In a symbolic moment, she traded her Indian River blue for Falcon red, officially cementing her place as a member of the Friends University Cheer Team.

Beyond the sidelines, Kierstyn has chosen to pursue a degree in Zoo Science at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, aligning her academic aspirations with her passion for wildlife and conservation.

Keep an eye out for Kierstyn as she cheers on the Falcons football team and takes the mat with the Falcons' Competitive Cheer Team, bringing her energy, talent, and determination to the collegiate stage.

Congratulations, Kierstyn!
