WPBS Welcomes June with a Week of Iconic Music Specials

WATERTOWN, NY (June 2, 2025) – WPBS is kicking off the summer season with an unforgettable week of music programming, celebrating legendary artists across rock, pop, R&B, soul, country, and more. From Monday, June 2 through Sunday, June 8, WPBS invites viewers to experience some of the most timeless and powerful performances in music history—many of them rarely seen on television.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Carole King, Bob Dylan, or Willie Nelson, or you’re discovering the magic of the Bee Gees, Aretha Franklin, or Creedence Clearwater Revival, this special music week offers something for everyone.

🎤 Tuesday, June 3

• 7:00 PM – Aretha! With Shelea and the Pacific Symphony
  A tribute to the Queen of Soul with powerful vocals and classic hits.

• 8:30 PM – The Commodores Live
  Motown’s funk royalty perform their chart-topping hits in this 2024 concert.

• 10:00 PM – Carole King: Home Again – Live in Central Park
  A rare look at King’s legendary 1973 concert, a defining moment in her career.

• 7:00 PM – Creedence Clearwater Revival at Royal Albert Hall
  Long-lost footage from their 1970 London concert, restored for this historic broadcast.

• 8:30 PM – The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration
  Canada honors one of its most beloved bands in an emotional farewell concert.

• 10:00 PM – Bob Dylan: Shadow Kingdom
  Dylan delivers reimagined classics in a moody, intimate performance filmed in 2021.

• 6:00 PM – From The Heart: A Tribute to Lawrence Welk
  This rare 1993 tribute hosted by Barbara Mandrell celebrates the beloved bandleader.

• 8:00 PM – Willie Nelson: 90th Birthday Celebration
  A musical milestone filled with unforgettable guest performances honoring a living legend.

• 10:00 PM – Tommy Emmanuel
  The world-renowned guitarist delivers spellbinding performances from his 2023 Australian tour.

• 5:30 PM – Country’s Legendary Duets
  A heartfelt look back at some of the greatest pairings in country music, hosted by the next generation of country royalty.
