NBC Watertown’s Hometown Hero Promotion

Every day, first responders and medical professionals across the North Country answer the call to serve — often putting their own lives on the line to protect, heal, and care for others. These incredible individuals are our friends, neighbors, and family members who work tirelessly to keep our community safe and healthy.

Now, it’s our turn to give back.

NBC Watertown is proud to launch the Hometown Hero Promotion, a heartfelt way to honor and recognize local heroes for their courage, compassion, and commitment to our region.

Nominate a Local Hero

We’re inviting the community to share stories of exceptional first responders and medical professionals who have gone above and beyond in their service.

Whether it’s a firefighter who risked everything to save lives, a nurse who provided comfort during a difficult time, or a 911 dispatcher who stayed calm through a crisis — we want to hear about the heroes who make a difference every day.

Entries are accepted now through November 9, 2025.

How It Works

Five outstanding nominees will be selected to receive a catered dinner and special award ceremony held in their honor. It’s our way of saying thank you to those who dedicate their lives to helping others.

This event will not only celebrate the individual honorees but will also shine a spotlight on the vital role first responders and medical professionals play in keeping the North Country strong.

Medical Professionals

• Doctors

• Nurses (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)

• Medical Technicians

• Therapists

• Anyone providing direct patient care

First Responders

• EMTs & Paramedics

• Firefighters

• Police Officers

• Corrections Officers

• 911 Dispatchers

• Search & Rescue Teams

• Life-Flight Crews

Entries must be received by November 9, 2025.

Selection of Winners:

• A judging panel will review all eligible entries.

• Five (5) heroes will be selected based on impact, dedication, and service to the community.

• Selected honorees will receive:

  • A catered dinner in their honor

  • Recognition at a special award ceremony hosted by NBC Watertown

Winners will be notified by phone or email. If a winner cannot be reached within 72 hours, NBC Watertown reserves the right to select an alternate honoree.

• Nominations that are incomplete, inaccurate, or submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

• NBC Watertown reserves the right to verify eligibility of both the nominator and nominee.

• By submitting a nomination, you grant NBC Watertown permission to use submitted stories, photos, and names for promotional purposes, including on-air, digital, and social media.

• Decisions made by NBC Watertown and the judging panel are final and binding.
