Kelsey Pfendler
Solo Row Mission

Kelsey Pfendler set out on a mission to row solo and unsupported across the Mid Pacific, traveling from Monterey, California to the Hawaiian island of O'ahu. By completing this journey, she aimed to break records as the first American woman, the youngest woman, and the fastest woman to finish the crossing solo. She was able to beat the previous world record of 86 days, 10 hours, and 5 minutes and become only the third woman in history to

complete a solo row to Hawaii. This follows her 2024 success as the skipper of "Hericane Rowing," a four-woman team that completed the same crossing in just under 41 days.

She began her journey on May 21st of 2026 and rowed 2,400 miles in a 21-foot boat, with a time of 43 days 17 hours and 55 minutes! This achievement awarded her two world records, breaking both the men's and women's records. Kelsey is a graduate of Adirondack High School in local Boonville NY, making CNY proud! Congratulations to Kelsey on this amazing accomplishment.
