Lowville Wins Grudge Match vs General Brown on NBC Watertown

The Red Raiders hosted Frontier League Rivals General Brown last Friday (9/11) on a very temperate evening. The stands were packed as the hosts looked to bounce back after a tough road loss to Dolgeville in week 1. The Lions were also looking for their first win, as they had lost to Fonda-Fultonville 35-22 in their first game. This was the first of two games this season broadcasted directly on the station (the other will be Indian River @ Carthage on October 23).

Lowville opened the scoring when Ethan Myers broke off a 75 yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Cole Zubrzycki converted for two more points, and then after a stop on defense, the roles were reversed as Zubrzycki scored on a 16 yard attempt and Myers added the two point try. At this point, it looked as though Lowville may run away with it, but General Brown buckled down and scored on a little "trickeration" as running back Cooper Donaldson threw for a touchdown, then rushed in for two points. Neither team scored in the third quarter, and Donaldson rushed in again to get the Lions within two. This was the closest they would come, as Zubrzycki picked up an octopus and Myers added his second touchdown of the night in the fourth quarter.

FINAL SCORE: LOWVILLE 30 - 14 GENERAL BROWN

This Friday night the Stream Team will be in Philadelphia as the Indian River Wolves host the Watertown Cyclones. Indian River is looking to bounce back from a tough season last year, while Watertown is still in search of their first win of the year following losses to Corcoran and Fayetteville-Manlius. Kickoff is 7PM and the game will be streamed on YouTube (@nbcwatertown) as usual.
